  • Open up your crawl space vents.
  • Drain or flush your homes water heater.
  • Look your home over for problems such as repairs needed, insect problems, termite damage etc. 

Fall Home Maintenance Checklist:

  • Clean your gutters of all debris before the weather changes
  • Time to inspect your homes roof.
  • Now is the time to have your home furnace inspected and repaired if needed. You do not need to be without heat in the cold winter months coming.
  • Time again to test and check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, change the batteries if needed.
  • Check for leaks or drafts around windows and doors, repair as needed. 

Winter Home Maintenance Checklist:

  • If your home has central air conditioning you should cover it to protect it in the winter.
  • Now is the time to change your furnace filter, you will be putting a strain on your furnace running through the winter, clean filters reduce strain and keep your home less dusty.
  • Winter is a good time to close any crawl space vents.
  • Winter is also a good time to clean your kitchen appliances.
  • Clean your drains so all is flowing smooth.
  • Turn your outside water taps off (drain them before turning the water off).
  • Drain or flush your homes water heater. 

By staying on top of your home maintenance it will ensure that your home and it’s systems will work well when needed.
